Kevin has over eighteen years of experience relating to program development, training, coaching, and diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. He combines strong leadership capacity with the ability to inspire and motivate people. He believes equity should be at the forefront of every organization, department, and employee. Throughout his career, he has consistently searched for opportunities to lend support to increase fair opportunities and practices with the individuals he served and his organizations of employment. A graduate of Johnson C. Smith University in Health and Human Services, Kevin uses his 20 years of experience as a program developer and trainer to better the lives of families.
Currently, Kevin works for The National Junior College Athletic Association as Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. In his position, he is responsible for the development and implementation of a nationwide equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) program for over 500 member colleges. Utilizing his education, life experiences, and extreme enthusiasm, Kevin welcomes the role of inspiring change. He establishes rapport with his honest and respectful attitude. He is responsible, well-written, and mindful of the value of collaboration, as well as positive and energetic regarding training practices.
The author of the novel "Poet Thomas", Kevin’s passion for working within the field of EDI is evident through his training practices. He is the developer of the “C.E.P. Model of Acceptance an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Framework”, as well as the EDI training “Acceptance, Cultivating, and Inclusive Culture.” Kevin is known for his thought-provoking training, “Behind Black Bars: Working with African American Families living in Poverty”.
When Kevin is not working, you can find him on his grill cooking BBQ, spending time with his daughter, taking in sites, and bragging about his favorite football team, the Miami Hurricanes.
